Abstract

In the current digital world, security in data communication has become increasingly demanding. Over the past few years, techniques for concealing data have improved substantially. Steganography is one of the primary techniques used for hiding data during communication, allowing information to be embedded within ordinary-looking carriers such as images, audio, video, and text so that its very existence remains undetected. As new technologies are introduced and adopted at a rapid pace, security issues in data communication have become significant, creating a need for both innovative systems and greater awareness of existing ones. This paper explores the structure of a steganography system, the necessity of such systems, and the current developments in data concealment techniques. It presents a descriptive account of the role of steganographic authentication systems and examines their applications across various domains. It also outlines the key concerns that must be addressed in the design of steganography systems and reviews future directions for expanding their real-time capabilities across emerging sectors such as IoT, healthcare, and cloud computing.
